Brabant weave formation signs

Were Brabant weave formation signs actually worn during the war? They are very late and I have to wonder just when they were actually used.
Thanks,

A good question, an answer to which has yet to be found. Although there are many Brabant formation signs there is almost no evidence of their use.

I have recorded two examples of combination signs like that attached both with the sign of 51st Highland Division. I have also recorded from Ebay a 51st sign attached to a battle dress, again with a Brabant sign, the best sort of evidence that can be found.

There is a printed record that the RAOC Local Provisions officer of 21st Army Group had by September 1945 bought what are described as "some 450,000 shoulder titles [sic] from continental manufacturers" to replenish his depleted stocks and this may account for some of the Brabant badges.

If the area of Brabant that gives its name to these badges was liberated in Sept/Oct 1944 then it seems feasible that production could have commenced as early as Dec 1944. But the number getting into the supplies and worn before war’s end must have been few even on that basis.
