I always enjoy regiment/corps/regional collecting themes.

Great caps, thank you for sharing.
I've a small Welsh Guards collection, as a Cousin 3rd or something like that something or other removed, (must look it up sometime what the relationship is exactly), served in WW1, so always been interested.
Just a quick question if I may, hopefully not highjacking your thread!
I visited the WG museum at the Park Hall country side experience a number of years ago,in there, there was a bronze leak cap star on blades, the guy said it was for the OSD cap, I have never seen the cap with a bronze badge, always the wire one as depicted on your cap.
Any ideas?
Cheers
Chris

Now that is indeed a scarce find, very nice, I should not be remotely bothered about it's condition, a lovely thing.

thanks Phil, I started out as a generalist collect it all, these days I mostly stick to welsh items, though I still buy other items that catch my eye...but mostly welsh

thanks Chris. the only one on blades I have seen was for one of those collector editions and I seem to remember it had blades, you see them on ebay as officers badges, but they are silver in colour, I don't remember seeing a bronze/osd version

thanks Frank, certainly not something you see often in any condition so it had to be bought. It was a forum member who gave me the heads up on it, it was on a FB sales group.

Here are my two Welsh Guards officer visor caps; a WWII service dress version, and a named post 1953 dress cap.

A very fine pair of WG caps

Not the best picture but you can see my Welsh Guards uniform at the right. I believe it is from the 1960's.
