Your opinion on these
 

Hi Gents,

Have a bit of time on my hands and have pulled these three badges from my collection, I feel none of these are right your opinions would be appreciated.

I don't like any of them either. The Seaforth might stand a chance with the unusual mismatch lugs (I can't tell if one is a replacement...), but it is certainly not one of the better strikes.

Thanks for the reply, a few observations of my own below.

Seaforth has both original lugs just a bad picture, thought these badges have three lugs not two as per my badge. Does look a bit rough around the left antler and text does not look sharp.

Cameronians pipers again has two lugs when others I have seen have three, also looks like footed lugs.

Gordon Highlanders brass badge has bad reverse definition and I did read on another forum thread that the thick eyebrows were not right.

I look forward to any enlightenment on these three for any forum member, if not good then will need to replace.

Thanks for the enlightenment on these three, as suspected two not good but great to hear Seaforth is good but why do these badges have two or three lugs is this due to different manufacturers or age of manufacture. Would be nice to have a early example.

The three lugged Seaforth are earlier 20th Century to my understanding. Even though yours may be OK, these are very common badges and a better example would not be difficult nor expensive to acquire.
