New Zealand Railways?

The button with the monogram looks to have a Queen's crown, so after 1953. Seems to have a large 'Z', similar to button for New Zealand Police.
Could it be New Zealand Railways?

Yes, it is.

Not my area of expertise but looks like QVC Crown and VR perhaps suggesting Queen Victoria - when you say 'Queens Crown' I was wondering which Queen you referred to. Looks too early for QEII (St Edward's Crown), but you may be referring to QVC anyway. I stand to be corrected of course.
All the best
Mike

Buttons

Hi everyone
The gold button is from 1864 -1880's site
The other button unsure of date however we found early musket pieces and a early flintlock pistol. Though the site has had many visitors over the different eras of time from the 1800's, no railway nearby but a bridge was built through the site and a small hut was built there in the 1900's sosomeone may have dropped it

Thanks for your help.
Would love to find more about the gold one as i have never seen anything like it before.
