Another thread on this item.

here's a good one !

Having had a grandfather who was a tank commander in North Africa, the beret was a far better item of headgear.
Lack of oil stains on it too....

Well I don't know about the badge, but the hat looks ok for a "tenner" !

KLR 16-08-19 10:35 AM

Yes Mike, Peter and I are both King's afficianadoes so we spotted this gem !

Jeff, the hat does look good (couldn't see the buttons).
The badge is an 8th TA Bn King's Regt OR issue Pattern 11390/1939, made by Firmin.

I am a little surprised at his "rare WW2 LRDG soldiers beret with rare badge" has actually had 11 bids at this point in time, although, perhaps I should not be.

Bait

The bait that brings a smile are those that gives one the belief that the seller doesn't know what they have...."found in a box buried under dusty old clothes" or "selling for an old, disabled, neighbour" Then they go on to claim they have no knowledge of the badge(s).

Indeed, Leaving you to believe you have found a sleeper

I have sent a formal letter to eBay asking why they condone and turn a blind eye to fraud on their auction site. I doubt that they'll reply.

You’re right I don’t think they’ll even read it. If he’s paying a good amount of fees per month why would they care what he sells?

Hello all,
I'm afraid that I'm the one who recently won the auction for the Beret and Badge that Mr.Kelley mentioned.Unfortunately I saw this discussion after the auction had ended.
If you could please take a moment to take a look and confirm that the items are post war reproductions I would be most grateful.

Thanks,
PC
