YMCA wartime?

Have had this YMCA badge for quite awhile now and always wondered what it was; a shoulder title or cap badge and whether it is wartime (ww1 or 2) related.
Thanks all,
CB

Here is a British Great War shoulder title and a Canadian collar badge. Notice both are quite large and 'clunky'. The example you share looks, to me, much more like the WWII style of title.

Hi, it could be South African. Many hand cut badges were worn by South African troops during WW1. I have never seen one like this though, so can't say it is. Regards Andrew

Come to think of it, this badge is not the usual British style strike and is rather thin brass. It does look to possibly be hand cut....the lugs also have very small loop holes.
