The ladies in the very first picture, hanging on the 6 inch gun are ASWAAS ladies, looks like they were still wearing the original WAAS badges before they were given the honour of once qualifying, they could wear the SA Artillery badge.

Interesting to see the variety of uniforms and headgear worn by the SAWAAS. Pith helmets, field service caps, ATS-style caps, American/Canadian style caps etc.

Here is one of 'Ouma' Smuts and some 'Waasies' in Khaki Drill.

The 2nd shows them in Battle Dress with at leats two types of cap being worn.
