Badges on battledress help

4 Attachment(s)
Hi,
This battledress blouse has been found recently in France, the formation sign looks like the Dehli District, but I am not sure...The "L.R.S.C." letters seem to be glued on the sleeves. Army serial number is post war for me.
If any member could help to identify this oddity...
Kind regards

The Div Sign is a sort of Delhi one but different to the war time one; I would suggest that the blouse, although war time, has been re-used by the Indian or Pakistani army post 1947 (independance).
LRSC....never seen this before.

There is a very good book called John's Company which describes the Indian army badges etc from WW2 and into post independence with Indian and Pakistani ones too.

I have a copy if you're interested in it...please PM me.

Paul

That's a head scratcher, Normandie18! It could be an Indian State Forces blouse, but L.R.S.C. does not ring a bell. Plus the number somewhat discounts this theory.

Thanks Paul & Mark for your inputs. I have searched for the "LRSC" acronym but to no avail...

I'll have a look at the book tomorrow or in the next few days and see if it matches anything....very peculiar though....

I can't even manage to get a match for the acronym!

Same here, Paul. The nearest match is Long Range ? Company but that's all I can find. I will look at some other British Empire countries to see if there is anything.

Just a thought: it might be a cadet blouse.

I am quite sure that is not the Delhi Dist. patch. All examples I have seen of these are very different from that design.

Thanks to everyone, still an oddity, may be a pure fantasy...

These are educated guesses to try and narrow it down if it is Pakistani:

Lahore Reserve Signals or Service Company (there was a Lahore Signals Company in the 3rd Lahore Division).

There is actually nothing to link this blouse and insignia with India at all, so I am thinking something possibly with a French connection.

Checked my books but alas no match.
maybe it's the initials of a school boy?

The Delhi badge, if it is one, does not match a wartime one....

Best guess....Look Roger Someone will Care:)

I'm wondering if this blouse has been 'messed about' for theatrical or costume use. I've never heard of badges being glued onto a tunic before.

Seems a very odd way indeed to apply insignia and, like NewRNcollector, I wonder if some kid has done this up for his own purposes.

Thanks for everyone research and efforts about this battle dress blouse. The theatrical theory is possible.
Best regards
