Not a badge but a Cravat

hi all
been doing some research and have been amassed that a simple cravat would generate my interest. There seems to be a bit of a history with NZ troops wearing cravats and would be interested to hear more about this. the attached pic and link is for the combined units who served with the Australians in Vietnam. These black scarves (cravats) were worn by soldiers of Victor 1 Company and Victor 2 Company RNZIR. Thanks for the info - I have also seen the cravat on eBay - I believed it was used for Pescekeeping ?
The only images I have seen of the NZ Cravat worn in VN had the fern leaf embroidered on it Like you my search continues for photographic proof Regards Steve |
