Anyone an ID on a Sid(ney) Haste RA
Evening all,
Just had a mate ask if i could possibly find any info on a Sid(ney) Haste who was supposedly RA who was in the Battle of the Bulge. Thats all i have. A long shot for 55,000 Brits in the battle lol |

This is from RA Attestations 1940. It’s the only Sidney Haste RA that I could find.

Thank you Sir!
That’s great nice forwarded to my mate.
Fingers crossed that it’s our man so I can try and look to see where he was posted. Very much appreciate your help. :-) Happy New year 👍🙂 |

It is the correct chap
Thanks for the lead. It transpires it is the right guy.
Now to try and find out about his service and with which unit he served during the Battle of the Bulge. Perfect |
May help; The 4th Army Group RA were there and this regiment, 86 (East Anglian)(Hertfordshire Yeomanry) Field Regiment RA(TA), attached to the Guards Armoured Division.

Thanks Marc for the extra J2.

His service record will be with the MOD.
£30 and you'll need a death certificate. I'm not entirely sure whether you have to be Next Of Kin though. Chris |
WW2talk site would be able to help also.

Thanks Chris. As I say. It was merely a question last night asked by a chap who was asked by a mate as they were watching band of brothers!
I am also looking into another chap, James Davidson who joined as RA, then became Kings which were then part of the Chindits (he was 140 commando). There’s a close family connection to my sister in law hence my deeper interest into that particular Individual. :-) |
