Can anyone help with the dates when this badge was in use?
Thanks Tony.

This has been mentioned before.
I recall the consensus was up to 70 or 72. The first black hawks were black paint on gold anodised before the black anodised version came in.

Chaps, I have notes as the following:-

Gold anodised cap badge : 1964 - 1969

Gold & black cap badge : 1969 - 1979 (these are found both made black & gold and the obsolete gold examples with black parts hand painted)

Cloth beret badge : 1979 - 1984.

Gold & black : 1984 onwards.

Presumably the black and gold carried on being worn in the service cap from 1979 onwards.
