Hello

I normally receive from the forum, but for once I wanted to share part of my growing Airborne collection. Displayed using items from a craft shop.

Cheers
Paul

Any particular details on the soldier in the photo?

Paul,

A great display, thank you for sharing with the forum.

I didn't know there were so many variations of the badge.

Enjoy the hobby, Keith

Thanks for all the comments. Its not yet complete as I am missing a few.

Ludlow Silver
Silver Plated
2 other types of Plastic economy.

+ there may be more

I have about 20 other Para badges in separate displays, and on berets but these are my more crusty, well used ones which is my preference.

If anyone has some good reference sites/books I would appreciate it. I have the Lock ones.

A very fine display. The Ludlow really is the one I want to get and wartime hallmarked.....

You do encounter, on occasion, white metal Ludlow badges too, they are actually quite scarce things these days.

Hello Frank

How would you know you have one, are they marked Ludlow, or is there a distinctive feature?

Thanks
Paul

Frank Kelley 05-05-19 03:42 PM

Yes, the dies from which they were cast had been engraved LUDLOW LONDON.

Collection Update

Hello

Its been a while since I contributed so I wanted to share an updated picture of my Para Cap badges. I do have many more in other displays and on Berets but this frame shows the varied types I have found to date. I managed to find a white metal Ludlow voided whch is in the bottom left and is quite new to my collection so has no label yet.

Happy to post my other frames if there is any interest.

If anyone has a Sliver Ludlow, or Silver Gaunt both voided I would be interested.

Thanks
Paul
