Another of those complicated intertwined monograms!

The back is marked, . FIRMIN . LONDON
Brass and diameter is 5/8” (16mm).

Any suggestion would be welcome

Could you post it again rotated as I think it should be similar to the French circle but without the dot, open at the top, in saying that it may be easier to de-cypher the monogram that way up.

its always one i never know as its down in David J.Froggatt railway buttons badges and uniforms as Neath Pontardawe & Brynammon railway has he got it wrong?. ive seen it sold as both railway and bank before.

There are far too many of these buttons around.

The National Archives holds records of the Neath Pontardawe and Brynamman Railway from 1842-1902.

I am sure Mr. Froggatt found provenance for the button listed in his book. Quoting: "Uniform buttons in brass which bore script NPB lettering had nevertheless been produced for the company's staff."
My guess is that he took the information from an old collection or from correspondence. My suggestion: forget about it.
