Gents,
Here's my South Staffordshire Regiment Officer's badge. What do you think? Regards, Marinus Attachment 212192Attachment 212190Attachment 212191 |
Nice example. The cloth backing makes it from the 1930's onwards.

No photo showing for me

Marinus your album seems to be set as a private album which none of us except Alan can look at, if your image is linked from there it may explain why we can't see it here either?

The images in post no's 1 & 7 appeared to me but those in 7 have now disappeared.
I like the South Staffs badges when they have their original backing plates and fabric. |
Well, I certainly think it is an original badge, with some age to it, from the photographs I would be happy with it.
What are your concerns, I assume you have an issue, or you would not have started this thread? Quote:

Thought it was a good badge although a little shiny. I'm happy with it and like to share it with the forum. It's also nice to see the opinions from the more experienced forum members. Regards, Marinus |
looks good to me, I have had two of these in the past, and still have one. one was by gaunt, the other unmarked same as yours.

If it is 'frosted' silver and gilt (which gives a 'shiny' appearance), then it dates from about 1947. I can't find the reference but it is somwhere a few years after 1945.
