11th KRRC enquiry

When the 11th KRRC (ex 1st Queen's Westminsters) served in Greece in 1944-45, were they wearing the KRRC or QW cap badge?
Thanks for any help.

I suspect that by then they were wearing the KRRC cap badge and possibly the plastic one. By that stage in the war the TF units had been absorbed into the wider regts and I would be amazed if they were still making the olf TF badges for single/ 2 bns.

In 1937-40 I would they they wore the QW cap badge but once those stocks were used up then standrad KRRC would be the norm. No doubt there were individuals hanging on to the old badges.

Many thanks, Alan -- that makes a lot of sense.

I would say KRRC too.

My father was in 2nd QVRs, but they wore standard KRRC cap badge, slip-on and sew-on titles.

No doubt about that as I still have them.

That's nice evidence BWEF -- thanks!

11 KRRC

Thanks for posting this question. The replies answer why my Grandfather had a KRRC cap badge in his belongings on discharge and not a Queens Westminster's one. He originally joined The Loyal regiment and then was transferred to 1 KRRC. He was wounded whilst serving with 1 KRRC and joined 11 KRRC after recovering from his wounds. I'm waiting to hear back from Manning and records at Glasgow, his service record should give me more info to research from.
