I have a cloth patch that belonged to my father. It is stitched in maroon on a white/cream background. The image is St George slaying a dragon with four hollow squares in the corners. My dad was in the second ww and the Royal artillery working with radar and at anti aircraft batteries. Can anyone help me identify this.Attachment 243959

The design and the colour purple look a bit ecclesiastical to me. Not my thing however so I am probably very wrong.

St George

Not familiar with this. Looking at position of St George I would guess that it should be standing on its point rather than a side. My first impression was that it was a Banner of some sort?
Regards
Bob

It also looks, IMHO, far too eleaborate to be a WWII military badge.

Jennifer, Might your father have been a vestryman in his church or something of the sort?
