G W Robertson & President Macron
 

Does anybody have any further information on the war service of George William Robertson, a Bristol man born in 1888?

Supposedly he "fought at the Somme and was decorated for bravery". He is the great grandfather of President Macron of France:

"George William Robertson, a Bristol-born butcher, stayed in France after the war and records show that in May 1919 he married the French national Suzanne Julia Amélie Leblond in Abbeville, north-west of Amiens."
