I asked in the Canadian threads and two great members confirmed me that it is an actual beret...so yes, It is just a recreation made with an actual beret! You can eliminate this thread, thanks!!

It's certainly not British with that bloody great bow on the back.
takes me back to Catterick 1945 when we were issued our black tank berets,
as the Sgt. said "A neat knot at the back and the ends tucked into the leather,
you look like a lot of ******* French sailors"......
