Hi Folks

Looking for some help.

I have these two badges which I think are 1 SA Div but the first one is quite large and a brighter green.

Could it be a pagri flash? Might it not be SA at all?

Measurements are
1. 70 x 70 mm
2. 55 x 55 mm

Regards
Sean

This may help. I am of the opinion that the small size green / yellow badges are possibly early arm flashes of the Pretoria Regt as worn in the WW1 German South West Africa campaign or the 9 SA Infantry pagri flashes worn as a diamond in similar fashion to the 1st SA Inf Div formation sign.

That's very interesting many thanks, so the dimensions of the large one are right for the 1st DIv shoulder flash?
And the smaller one then is much older than I thought.
Many thanks
Sean

I have seen a number of variations in colours and size. Suspect when in the field a number were "self made" or produced by local tailors ie in Egypt.
