Royal Signals Shoulder Title
 

I think I know the answer, but I will ask the question anyway. Did the Royal Signals ever wear a shoulder title with yellow lettering on a green background?

70 Signal Squadron did wear that colour combination as slip on titles for shoulder strap.

I suspect not what you’re alluding to (these are slides, not sewn on, and the text is EY not SIGNALS) but just in case!

I can't think of any reason why they might have worn those colours although there may be a connection with this P sign recorded as worn by the Royal Signals TA unit in Kensington which for a while in the postwar period had the Phantom role.

This version of the P although recorded on a Royal Signals battle dress has never been properly identified.

Phil, I cannot think why that colour combo would be used for the curved title.

I've taken a quick look through Harfield's excellent book on Signals badges and embellishments and all such titles included are blue.

Any chance of an image? My feelings are I am sure the same as yours but would be interested to see the item in question.

Are you sure it is yellow on green? Perhaps the flashlight makes the colours look different.
