Can anyone help identify this badge?

This lady was a clerk in the war office and other photos show a small crown.

The only badge I have found similar to it also here.

Hello & welcome. It appears to be General Service Corps like the badge you show but with a Kings Crown.

ATS personnel were permitted to wear the (usually collar size) badge of the unit to which they were attached above their left breast pocket. The General List / General Service Corps Badge could represent the War Office.
Unattached personnel were permitted to wear the small crown, like that worn above chevrons by Staff/Colour sergeants.

Interesting picture. It may just be my PC, but it looks ot me like she is wearing an WAAF jacket, and maybe also the skirt, but with an ATS hat? Yet, I am not familiar with the WAAF wearing associated badges on the the beast of their tunic. I am also unable to tell if the lanyard is three colors or just two, but to me it looks blue-gray and light gray.

The photo is badly coloured and the uniform is for the ATS. The WAAF uniform does not have shoulder straps.

Ah yes, the new colorization is much nicer and I can see the ATS lanyard clearly now. Here's a small grouping I have with the lanyard, plus I have one that is not part of a grouping.

Thank you all for your replies. Especially the retouched colour (would love to know how that was done). That has added to my knowledge and picture book of this person.

Chris
