Hi all.
i was looking for info about this button but now have what i need so will leave this up so others can view.
It is the first time i have come across this button in NZ.
It was found at a 1800's British Camp in NZ

Info i found online: British MILITARY TRAIN Uniform Button: 1840s, Queen Victoria Crown, HTF Back Mark- Smith Kemp & Wright, Birmingham, Brass, Convex Dome

Hello

Your 'Military Train' button dates from around 1856 to 1869.

Very briefly, the 'Military Train' is just one of several units that after a long and complicated history eventually became the Army Service Corps in 1888.
