Hello can anyone shed any light on this button made by Firmin and Sons Ltd please? The initial GHS and device are very reminiscent of the Royal Hospital School button, but was it ever called the Greenwich Hospital School?
Thanks

Early Greenwich Hospital Schools ?

"In 1892 the Greenwich Hospital Schools were formally renamed the Royal Hospital School."

Or......Greenwich Hospital Service ?

Hi, yes that certainly makes sense, thanks for that nugget, I hadn't found reference to the name change in 1892. Regards Richard

And here are some similar buttons attributed to the Greenwich Hospital School by the National Maritime Museum - who of course occupy the site of the old Greenwich Hospital School itself.

Great, thanks very much both. Interestingly I did find an image on the RMM collections website but the cataloguer wasn't sure what it was either!
