Cloth Badges for ID
 

Hi Guys
Can anyone help to ID these Badges not sure if they are all Foreign.
any help appreciated

First is the Midland Brigade badge (the Roman numerals indicate the regiments of foot constituting it), the second is a US Navy "liberty patch" worn on the inside of the cuff and revealed when the cuff is turned up, I think.

Last badge is for the US Army's 42nd "Rainbow" Division. Worn during WWII. Not sure of current status. Badge is worn with the flat ends at the 12 and 3 o'clock positions.

I agree with Leigh re. the Mermaid, I have an identical one somewhere.

I believe #3, the elephant, is from an Israeli transportation unit.

Further to my last, I was incorrect in the orientation of the 42 nd Div patch. My original reference book is wrong. I have since found out that the orientation of the flat edges of the shoulder insignia is at the 12 and [B]9[B] o'clock position (just in case you were planning to put it some sort of display).

Also, the Div is part of the National Guard, is headquartered in NY with units spread across several States and is still active.

A photo of the reverse of the 42nd Inf. Div. SSI would help to date it. From what I can see, it looks to be post ww2.
The mermaid is indeed one of the many designs sometimes worn on the inside of the cuffs, quite unofficially of course, on the US Navy enlisted jumper. Impossible to date with certainty as they were worn for many years throughout most of the 20th century.

The red star could be a Royal Observer Corps Master Pass badge. Worn below the red Spitfire badge to indicate 10 master passes.
