E11R RMs colour sgts rank badge.
Can this be dated to a particular decade?
Anyone know the date this pattern was sealed?

It appears to be on green Lovat material so after the date that was introduced.

An RM collectror should tell us?

This badge was never worn on Lovats, I think it is just the quality of your picture that makes it look a bit green. This style of badge was introduced in 1956 by RMRO 141/56 and is a smaller version of the old KC & QVC badges that were worn. It has been worn since approx 1956 and is still worn today although the quality of yours is better than the modern day versions. Does your badge have a number on the back? It may be possible to narrow the era down a bit, if it has a VOCAB number 31927 on the back then it is an early version, if it has a NSN 8455 (or V092)-99-416-5545 then it is a later version. From what I've seen VOCAB numbers were used in Clothing Stores Price Lists until approx 1980. In 1981 they used a combination of NSNs and VOCAB numbers and from circa 1984 they started using just the NSNs when the CRISP system was introduced (Comprehensive RNSTS Inventory System Project).

Thanks Paddy, there is nothing on the reverse except paper and glue remains where it was once stuck on a board or album. The quality of the bullion is so good that's why I asked the question.
Ron.
