Grenadier Guards Collar badge?
 

Hello all!
Recently a friend found these linked in a rural park here in Edmonton Alberta Canada.

I think they’re grenadier guards collar dogs but can’t find many examples.

Other options have been arty and engineering corps.

Any thoughts would be appreciated

Grenadier Guards do not wear collar badges other than embroidered pattern in full dress scarlet.
They are generic “bursting bomb” devices that have been used for a variety of purposes over the years including
Collar badges for Fusilier Regiments
Collar badges for Royal Artillery units
Part of shoulder titles for fusilier regiments
Worn above chevrons as part of rank badges of Royal Engineers Sgt’s
Almost certainly also worn by Comminwealtj units in addition to British units

There is a mannequin in the Guards Museum ( Boer War Period ) that shows these being worn as collar badges. I believe though they are being worn unofficially.

Worn with "GG" as shoulder titles by the Grenadier Guards too.

Canadian Field Artillery, Officers Collars, Used in and prior to WW1.

These "generic" collars were also worn by the CFA, CGA, and CE circa and during the First World War. The 123rd Bn wore them on the shoulder strap, as did the 87th, in combination with the shoulder title.
Mark, the CFA collars I have seen for officers have a Canada scroll and are usually fire gilt.

Hi Bill, thanks and acknowledged, concur with Chris Brookers work, merely stating my belief they were in use by CFA officers. Regards Mark
