I would like to have your opinion on this shoulder title nr "30".

is it possible that it is part of the shoulder title of the 30th Canadian Battalion?
he was found in Godewaersvelde.

Hi Michel, in my opinion I do not think the number is a Canadian one.

The 30th Bn CEF was not a front line bn. It was a reserve bn in the UK. As Greg says, it doesn't look like a Cdn numeral.

it is common to find on the ground cape badge - shoulder title of battalions that have not come to the theatre of operations.
personally I found:
collar of the 53rd
63rd badge cap
collar of the 66th
