Photographed in East London this Gunner has the orange tab on his shoulder strap and the letters AA on his arm badge.

Can anyone explain the exact meaning of the arm badge?

Well as he is a Gunner Officer probably a founder member of Alcoholics Anonymous.

Or perhaps Anti Aircraft.

AA = Anti Aircraft unit

There is already a thread on the forum, probably by Brian Conyngham I think, dealing with this patch.

It was Anti-Aircraft as Milmed says.
