Canadian WW 1 B.Q.M.S. Insignia

My Grandfather served in WW 1 in the C.E.F. with his last rank as the Battery Quartermaster Sergeant. I have the Sergeant stripes and some King's Crown metal badges included in his military items.
I'm trying to find out if the stripes and the crowns would have been worn together to signify him as BQMS, but information seems sketchy. I have found that the guided crowns were used before the crown patch. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Dont see why not.

In the UK both cloth and gilding metal crowns were worn at the same time with no hard and fast rule. Probably same in Canada at that time.

As Simon says, the practice of mixing metal rank and embroidered was common. It is likely that the material you have were the rank he wore.

The combination is correct for BQMS in the Great War.
