When I first saw this badge (in Jerry's album) I couldn't figure out the connection between Blackpool and Scotland.

Now all is revealed .:D

Only problem is that this is the Conference badge for 1998 and the first of the Conference lapel pin is 2000 , so was there a 1999 badge/pin ?

1999 was the 75th Anniversary of the RBLWS Scotland and they issued a pin.

May 1999 was also another 75th Anniverary:

"Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother today reviewed a Parade of Standards of the Royal British Legion Women's Section in the garden at Clarence House to mark the 75th Anniversary of Her Majesty's Presidency."

Was there a special/commemorative pin/badge for this rather than a Conference one ?

2018 Pin ?

1 Attachment(s)
Found a photo on RBLWS Northern Ireland page of this pin , described as "Our 2018 Women's Section Pin". Does anyone know if this was for the Annual Conference or for the local branch ?

P.S I'm also after a clear picture of the 2008 pin.

Thanks.

Picked up a job lot that include a caseworker , WS treasurer , 4 WS Conference pins (2000/2001/2005/2006) and this unusual one.

Can't find anything about it on the internet but was wondering if it could 'possibly' have any connection to 1999 ?

The way the two C's are positioned give the impression of a stylised E , could this be a tribute to the 75 years of Elizabeth The Queen Mother's Presidency of the Women's Section ?

I may be grasping at straws , anyone have any other ideas ?

Another unusual one , the 2006 WS Conference pin celebrated their 85th anniversary so this may 'possibly' be a local/branch item ?

I've got 19 out of the 22 "WS Conference" pins issued but because I usually have to buy a 'job lot' to get the one badge I need I've ended up with 18 spares/doubles !

Not the usual conference pin but this "Visitor" badge is a nice addition. Not sure when it is from , will have to find out when "Disabled Men's Industries Ltd" changed to RBLI.

Named gold BL badge

Hi all

While searching for something that still eludes me, I came across this named gold BL badge. The hallmark would appear to be for 1953 and the naming is:

Lt. Col. W.A.N. Baker, O.B.E., M.C.

I've established that his OBE was awarded in 1944 for services to the Home Guard ( Walmington-on-Sea???) but ma guessing that his MC was for WW1.

Anyone able to give me more details, such as full name, etc.
