Royal Observer Corps -Crazy Price for Part of an Officers Badge

Usual storey - eBay sale - part of a badge - crazy price!!

Direct link here.

Not sure what has really spiked the interest here, but this is the centre part of a padded Royal Observer Corps officers badge (sometimes removed and passed off incorrectly as a first pattern (Pre-1941) Observer Corps officers badge).

Originally it started at £20, and now 30mins before the end of the auction it's at £57. (When a full, complete, officers capbadge tends to realise £50~£60).

How much should the complete bullion and metal badge fetch? I am looking for one and would be interested in a guideline.

I would like to know also! And to obtain one also

Hi Mike

The images of the two that you posted in the "wants" section are war time economy issue ones, they tend to get a higher premium - mint ones being £100+ (last one sold one eBay was £120 I think?). Others tend to be in the £60-£80 region these days... but all are creeping up in price it seems!

Best Wishes

Dave

Thanks for the help! I am much more interested in the bullion than the war economy version.

I say good luck to the seller here. The title clearly stated ‘Cap Badge Device‘ which is exactly what it is, that last word being key and the big clue for perspective buyers.

True... But look who sold it. He probably removed it from the full cap badge himself!, especially if it was a QC one!
