British Army Staybrite Cavalry Badge Page

Hi Guys,

Here is a link to my current listing of British Army Staybrite Cavalry badges including photos of as many as I can currently obtain.

To see a fuller photo and full description just click on individual badges.

http://picasaweb.google.co.uk/hagwal...ey=Bxyfkg2r5hw

If anyone can supply a scan or photo of an item currently represented by a 'WANTED' image then please let me know.

Also I need to know if this list is complete or not. As usual, photographic proof will help.

Full watermark credit will be given to suppliers of badges that I currently do not have.

As can be seen on the page - there are some 'duplicates' being variations e.g. 1st The Queens Dragoon Guards and I expect to sub group these off later together with 'mistakes' such as C36 - Royal Hussars (All Gold) and possible commemorative items such as C3 - 3rd The Kings Own Hussars.

To keep things easy I have arranged the badges in alphabetic order with numeric titles first. Regiments with a 'The' in the name have had this dropped for sorting.

I hope to put the entire genre of staybrite badges on a proper web site in the future and standardise the photographic format. I may also publish this series too and will check out with the Third Reich guys who have recently, or currently are, producing excellent works on WWII combat badges.

Regards

Chris

Hi Chris ,have noticed you have not shown a picture of the 3rd carabiniers in all gold is that one you believe to have been issued ,regards alan

Hi Alan,

Never heard of a 3rd Crabineers in all gold.

Have you got a photo that I can add to the page?

Not worried at this stage if items were issued or not as I'm just creating a list of staybrite cavalry badges and displaying as many as possible here. Non issues, mistakes, commemorative pieces etc can be sub-grouped off later.

Regards

Chris

Looks a nice badge Alan.

I'll add it to the web page later.

What watermark name would you like on it?

Regards

Chris

Odd that it has the Gaunt Bham mark when the regt went in 1969-70. Either it was one of the last made for the regt or it was made later in the 1970s for the collectors market.
