WW1 Sweetheart Badge ?

Not sure if that is what this is - or the regiment - were all Sweetheart badges made with enamel fronts?

Thanks for any help!

Hi,
Sweethearts come with or without enamel. Im no expert on ladies fashion but I seem to think that as a general rule early in the 20th century, things for ladies to wear came with pins, the horseshoe lapel fitting suggests intended for a man to wear ie. female ARP in WW2 came with a pin, those for men with lapel fitting. As to what it is, sorry no idea

I agree - the 'horseshoe' fitting is meant to go into the button hole on a suit lapel. Although why we have that buttonhole is a different mystery, since the matching button has been gone for at least a century.

Maybe an Old Comrades badge indicating previous service with The Welsh Guards [???]

ARP with pins were also worn by men on headdress.

Hi Phil,
Never knew that, learn something new every day - just the first example I could think of with the pin and horseshoe on the same design
