Lime Green Backed Patches

I've bene looking at Medic patches on eBay and have been seeing some that look ot have a lime green color with a black design on them. Is that a new color being used by the British army or are they just poorly made fakes?

Here's a link to one of them:

Thanks,

I think it’s just the way they have been lit whilst being photographed and they are just standard olive green. I’m pretty sure these are unofficial patches and aren’t actually worn although others may know better ?

Terry,
Indeed these ‘subdued’ rank and qualification badges are generally ‘unofficial’ and not issued. Large selection in my album https://www.britishbadgeforum.com/fo...hp?albumid=866 includes a number of medical badges.
They do come in various shades of olive green and desert colours but as Paul says photography and lighting can affect the colour you see.

However, I believe many are/were worn by service personnel on uniform or equipment. Usually attached by hook and loop (Velcro) so they can be removed easily.

My very sincere thank you gentlemen.

Tim, I use your RAMC album as my primary reference. It is a very impressive collection!!!

If they were unofficial what was the official acceptance of their being worn?

Stay well,

Terry

Acceptence of unofficial badges depends very much on the attitude of the unit's command - some totally anti, some very much pro, some merely turn a blind eye.

To a lesser extent it is also an issue of how much the unit in question is 'in the public eye' - there are, for example, pictures of the then CO 22 SAS wearing both Punisher Skull and Union Jack F**k Al-Qaeda badges, clearly he didn't give a f...
