Opinions on this badge please. I think it's a restrike or maybe an outright fake..

Billy,

I am not expert in London Regt Badges but the voided centre seems like a good indicator of authenticity. Copies I have seen and owned are non voided. No doubt Luke H or others more knowledgeable will provide a more definitive answer.

It’s absolutely fine. Not the finest quality example but as Mark says a good one.

Thanks Gents. Glad I was wrong!

Could you please provide a picture of the reverse showing the slider in full?

Many thanks.

Think I see where you’re going JT ;) . The crown voids too have potential.
Cheers,
Luke

Rear of badge and crown. Looks like I was right in first off?

No it’s genuine. The slider shape, strong crimp line and crown voids are reminiscent of a badge produced by the manufacturer F.E. Woodward.

Thank you Luke.

Spot on, Luke. That’s exactly where I was going. I’d say that is a very strong candidate for being a Woodward badge.

Completely agree JT. Certainly a type worth keeping an eye out for to see if one surfaces with a marked slider.
