Combined Operations Red / Yellow
Just been looking through some WWII era paperwork and I see an Infantry unit (Glosters) commencing Combined Ops training in India upon reverting back to Infantry from Tanks. They are talking about the dark blue/black and yellow combined ops badges. I always thought Army/RAF wore the red variation and the Royal Navy the yellow variation. Can anyone help regarding the difference in colours please?

Yellow on black or dark blue seem US worn, Navy wore blue on white? Perhaps sourced from American troops? Rgds, Thomas |
