Edwin Forrest - Author of Anodised Badges of the British Army and Cadet Forces

Hi Guys,

I would like to be able to contact Edwin Forrest who was the author of Anodised Badges of the British Army and Cadet Forces printed around 1986 or 1987.

If anyone knows how I could contact him could they email me via the forum or even PM me if easier.

I have a copy of his book but there is no information in it to enable contact to Edwin Forrest or any publisher to be made if indeed there ever was a commercial publisher involved.

Regards

Chris

Other than his book, I have never come across this man,but in the acknowledgements he mentions Peter Evans and his son Steven Forrest, if anyone knows either of those people they would no doubt be able tio give contact details for Edwin

Ed Forrest (AKA "Sniper" - due to his shortsightedness !) was formerly a member of the Royal Northumberland Fusiliers and in the mid to late 90s lived at Gainsborough in Lincolnshire - that might narrow your search down a little ?

There is an SH Forrest in Gainborough listed on the BT phone book on the interenet.

Hi Guys,

No joy with the SH Forrest in Gainsborough and could not find an E Forrest in the phone directory for the same area.

Any other suggestions gratefully recieved.

Chris

Chris,
I will keep my fingers crossed for you,but if Ed Forrest was a fomer member of the Northumberland Fusiliers then that must have been before St.Georges day 1968 and that was over 40 years ago.

Try taking a closer look at the book for an ISN number which may help in tracing the publisher.
I believe the British Library have a record of ISN numbers but not sure if they would part with any details.
Sorry if this is no help to you.

Thanks mate but there is absolutely no printer information or ISN number.

The book looks like it was published a la home made on the kitchen table...

Chris
