Thanks Mike!

Nice find Mike, as a scout leader I would have had both of those in my collection.
I suspect the name tape is probably an unofficial one that the group has had made to show they are affiliated to the local branch. It's a nice idea and something I wish I'd thought of when my group became affiliated. Michael |

Spotted this pair of badges , checked the backs and decided they were worth getting.;)
1. Large badge - A.Harris Ltd. Glasgow . This company appear to have been the only manufacturer of BL badges in Scotland , there does not appear to have been any "British Legion Scotland" membership badges produced by any of the manufacturers . The first specific membership badges were RBL Scotland ones in 1972. NB. This is one of the wrong Regd.Design number badges. 2. Miniature badge - Standard miniature , made by Birmingham Medal & Badge Co. Ltd. What is unusual is that the makers name/address is stamped on the button hole fitting (normally raised letters on badge itself). The badge appear to date from the WW2 period : Quote:

This belt buckle caught my eye , it looks quite nice but had to smile at the descripton. :D

Not sure if it is a recent 'modification' or an earlier one done by a bandsman/standard bearer. Will have to see if it attracts many bidders. . |
Early chrome badge

Although this badge is slightly damaged (between T & I) it is a great example of an early (1922) Gaunt chromed badge.
When Gaunt first produced BL badges the lion head was attached by 2 wires, when Birmingham Medal Co. took over production (1927) they initially used the same method but after a couple of years moved on to the 'rivet' style attachment. . |

As a button collector I occasionally buy lots of mixed items. Recently a friend showed interest in the badges I have acquired.
In the non-button box is a British Legion Honorary badge. See the pictures. Made by "Birmingham Medal Co", Rd 686125, issued to 54199. Let me know if a member is interested. |
Large badge !

Just picked up this nice RBL badge but not sure who it was intended for .
First thoughts were Standard Bearer cross-belt or Senior Officer/Official but does anyone have any info ? Thanks ! |
You've had no joy from contacting the Brentwood branch?
