Anyone know which REECE wore this backing, I know that their Training at Catterick (The 62nd) did not,

Very similar to modern Aviation Reconnaissance Force.

Have a look at the slouch hat in Car Commanders Reconnaissance Corps album, might be the one. https://www.britishbadgeforum.com/fo...ictureid=12647

Dumb newbie question , what is the correct orientation for Recce colours ?
Most of the photos on line show patch "square" with green uppermost yet the badge shown on the slouch hat has yellow on top and the original photo shows "diamond" style . |
Recce Arm of Service strip colours are green to the front and yellow to rear. Modern square diagonally split is doing essentially the same.

RAC 1944....Were you actually in RAC in 1944?
|
No, no, it reflects a passionate interest rather than doings, on reflection it should be rac19391945.

I was a bit concerned I thought you might be older than me....

Nice photo, I like the beret overhang, always thought that had a certain panache.

It's kept well...and I still wear it the same....

You don't even look any older than in the first photo either. Beret must have kept you young:D
|
That is truly superb, lovely to see on here, I think you have both kept well.
