Can forum members please look at this cloth parachute badge and identify the country of origin? Any other information would be gladly received. It measures 5.2 cm diameter. Thank you.

It's probably British and is known as a 'light bulb' worn by parachute qualified troops who are not part of an airborne regiment i.e. paras, SAS, but I think have passed 'P' company. They come in different colours depending on the regiment. Du Bora still sells them. Someone who's ex-Para should be able to clarify the rules more clearly, but the MOD's JSP 336 3rd edition outlines who can wear them. You should be able to Google JSP 336 and get to it. It stands for Joint Supply something. David

As above... COURSE TRAINED PARACHUTIST not serving with an airbourne unit. JSP is JOINT SERVICE PUBLICATION.

Yes, I have considered Para non-op, but look again at the number of cords and the 0 at the bottom. This badge is larger than the para non-op badges in my collection and it does not conform to the same pattern.
