Caton-Woodville's "A Gentleman in Khaki" - much reproduced in print, porcelain, bronze - and I think that this little "scrap", about 5" tall is of painted celluloid

Yes it has been used in many many souvenir's…… He was the "Old Bill" of the Boer War..... Mike

Often with a wounded comrade laying in front of him, offering a round of ammunition?
Or am I thinking of different but similar illustration?

Would you be thinking of Woodville's painting of the Boer surrender at Paardeburg on Feb 27, 1900, with soldiers of the Royal Canadian Regiment in the foreground?

I don't know I'm afraid.

Mention of Canadians reminded me that I have this, measures about 3' X 2' as does the Kitchener one, they're printed on a thick card.

Here are a few more..... All R.C.M.P. …… I like the artists humor with the cat playing with the Mounties spur in picture 5 ….. Mike
