I couldn't find - please send link. The local cadets don't wear RMLY badges, understandable, given its disbandment.

The link:

"Hodges" states that RMLY wore a cloth beret badge prior to the issue of metal badges and that the cloth badges were later (at time of publication, 2004) worn by ACF Telford.

I don't think Hodges shows the cloth beret badge?
He shows a "C" Squadron badge as metal on a rectangular coloured backing?

49lassiepen 17-11-19 07:34 PM

leigh crossed wires some where I was only interested in the circular badge in my album and gallery -as also posted by Tim This was listed by Tlm in his cadet file
I was trying to find what/if any cadet unit used this CIRCULAR badge
RE your ref to Hodges no mention of metal badge - Officers wire embroidered badge worn on the Cheshire yeomanry backing
Not sure what your 1st post was about

Ah, gotcha - and my mistake re. the "Hodges" "C" Squadron metal / bullion badge.
My first post referred to cloth badge as this is what I thought you were querying.

49lassiepen 17-11-19 08:10 PM

Leigh as my initial post -badge 50mm in diameter had to be circular as shown in photo
David

Yes, it was a case of me not knowing that the cloth badge referred to (but not illustrated) in "Hodges" wasn't the circular one you show.
I got hold of the wrong end of the stick, I'm confusing the issue - I'll keep quiet and listen......

This badge?

Is it not the same as the one shown by Grey Green Acorn?

I'm getting this 'round my neck? (I may be selecting the wrong badge from your album).

Placed mine next to Tims photo enlarged -i can't see any difference may be very very slight diff in jewels on the crown Mine was photoed under plastic covering

The Acorn says his is the beret badge, Hodges doesn't illustrate the beret badge.
I was thinking that Hodges beret badge (that he doesn't illustrate) which he states to have been worn until the introduction of the metal badge and then worn by ACF Telford and your badge (possibly Cadets) and Acorn's cloth beret badge are the same badge?
The 2nd and the 4th jewels may be different in the two photos you mention?

49lassiepen 17-11-19 09:27 PM

Leigh if you look at Tims Cadet file of badges This circular badge is there -thus my 1st post
the beret badge not illustrated in Hodges is a woven badge on blue back ground approx 40x 50mm
Removed plastic covering can't see any difference now
