WW1 cap badge for identification
 

Hello. Attached is an image of a WW1 serviceman from Chesterfield, Derbyshire, named William Herbert Norton Smith (born 1895). He is pictured on his wedding day in 1919.

Nobody in the family knows which regiment he served with, nor have any records relating to his service been located so far.

Can anybody identify the badge on the cap held in his right hand?

Looks Royal Artillery to me also, he is wearing a leather bandolier & spurs [well spur buckles?] which suggests mounted section so possibly Royal Horse Artillery, also the white lanyard on his shoulder, I have a picture of my grandfather who was Royal Horse Artillery WW1 wearing his bandolier and same white lanyard.

Could also be Royal Field Artillery, and the Royal Garrison Artillery also had some mounted sections.
Shame we can't see the shoulder titles.
