Yes, they are Warrant Officer, class 1 (W.O.1). Generally for a Regimental Sergeant Major (RSM) - also known as 'the razzman' in certain low circles.

Worn on the lower right cuff or a wrist band for the metal/anodised example.

The anodised example is also found with a slider - worn in the beret for a while by new army recruits in initial training ( no longer though I believe)

John,
Yes, both are Warrant Officer Class 1
The cloth one is quite an early QE11 badge and obviously the staybrite is newer.

John, if they came with the other Welsh bits you have posted they are contemporary to those as both appear to have the green backing associated with certain Welsh regiments.

The cloth is as Steve stated an earlier example, as later designs had the 'MON' separate in the lower part of the scroll or box. These ypes generally refered to as those with the 'MON in a box'.

God the information we retain!. Do you think I can remember Jack s*%t when my other deputes me to go out shopping . . .?

Thanks all, great information. All together were the two WO1 badges, a staybrite RWF badge, a white feather hackle, just worked out the hackle fits into the attachments at the back of the badge. Also a few staybrite buttons with a dragon on them.

Cheers

John

Yes, the white hackle goes with the OR's RWF beret badge,
