Entitlement of soldier's medals

Hello all,

I realise this may not be the correct forum to ask this question but an elderly English lady down here has asked me what medals her father might have been entitled to for WW2 service. UK records are right out of my knowledge base unfortunately.

He was George Harold Middleton, Royal Engineers, born 6 February 1918. Service in Middle East, Jordan, and Iraq. Badly injured and discharged totally unfit for service in 1942. I suggested Defence Medal and War Medal 1939-45, with perhaps Africa Star depending where he served in Middle East.

Can anybody come up with more details on this man?

Thanks, Keith
