Looking for any info or opinions on this star please.

Looks ok to me. Rating of Carpenter's Crew which is what he was in 1915. The medal roll gives his entitlement as a WW1 trio claimed by his father as Shaw had died of influenza 4/7/18. The only thing I would comment on is the naming as he was Francis JAMES William Shaw so not F. F. W. Shaw but naming mistakes are not uncommon. I would have it in my collection if it was to a ship I collect to.

David.

Hi David,

On advise have just taken advantage of Ancestrys current freebies and printed off some provenance for this star and as you say there is a difference of initials.
I also checked The CWGC site for Weston Mill Cemetery, Plymouth, and he is recorded on their commemoration download as a Second Lieutenant, not a Second Cooper!
Thanks for your info and confirmation of authenticity which got me off my butt to take the research a little further.

Kevin
