Unidentified Medal

Hi,

Can anyone help me identify this medal? It is sterling silver and has the initials WH on the reverse - assumed to be the maker.

Thanks in advance.

I'm guessing that it is a watch fob, so the initials could in fact be the owner's, and not the makers. You say it is sterling. Are their proof marks? Often those will indicate the place [city] and date it was made.

Thanks Peter. There are no hallmarks, just the words Sterling Silver either side of the initials WH. Like your suggestion that it may be a watch fob, perhaps for a military person.

I think it's more of a "jewel" as for Freemasons

That makes sense too: something to wear on a watch chain so other Masons could recognize you [without the secret handshake]. Not the usual compass and square insignia, but I know nothing about Masonic stuff.
