White metal, 46.5mm tall, 40.25mm wide, two copper loops east-west to the reverse.
A laurel wreath with an imperial crown at the apex. Within the lower section of the wreath are the letters A.A.C. bound within two arcs. On this stands an eagle with wings outstretched, facing right.

Hi Mike
I am hoping you are able to help me. I have been trying to locate & purchase original British WW2 Sergeants rank insignia (badge?) – 3 stripes & also insignia for a Staff Sergeant – 3 stripes & crown. Didn’t think it would be a problem, but you live & learn. I believe the insignia used by the GPR were the same as for other units. I am not a collector myself but am researching my fathers war service in the Glider Pilot Regiment. His rank was Sergeant 1st Pilot for Operation Mallard (Overlord) and Staff Sergeant 1st Pilot for Operation Market Garden. I have various bits of memorabilia I would like to frame for display but am lacking the genuine rank insignia. Given your contacts, any assistance you can offer in pointing me in the direction of any reputable dealers or collectors would be greatly appreciated.
