Black wool square or rectangle embroidered in red with two overlapping letter ‘Ts’. This example 52mm wide by 57mm tall.
The two ‘T’s’ are the initials of two of the the rivers in the recruiting area; the Tyne and Tees. The badge was designed by Colonel J.M. Grant, D.S.O., O.B.E., who was staff captain at the Divisional H.Q., 1938-39.
