The Tank Corps was formed in 1917 from the Heavy Branch of the Machine Gun Corps.INS 7679 .....armband,buckle, label blue red-edged cloth armband (W 105mm x H 175mm) with Tank Corps emblem (white and black-edged 'tank') in the centre and a buckle. The attached label has the inscriptions: ROYAL ARMY CLOTHING DEPARTMENT / STANDARD PATTERN No. 9574 / 1917 / Obsolete 18.6.18(in red ink) Armlet, cloth, blue, with scarlet edging, and Emblem of a Tank in white / M.G.C. Heavy Branch (crossed out in red) / 16.8.17 Tank Corps (in red) / Headquarters, France / 18160 / Q.M.G. 7 / 1917 / 2.7.17 / Approved 8.8.17.
